This is a fantasy/fake bowie knife and was not made during the Civil War.  The Palmetto Armory never made such a knife, nor would they have dated it 1861.  There is no way a Union unit would commission such a knife.  The etching on the blade is fake.  This looks like something made by House of Swords……..Beware………it is FAKE.
